Welcome To Balancing Motherhood: The Site Where You Learn You’re Not The Only One Trying To Do It All and Still Have a Life
The mom blog site, 5 Minutes for Mom, is having a blog party and I’m joining in. It’s a networking party that I can share my goals about helping women with more moms. After all, that is why I blog.
Since it’s a party, we’ll need cake. You can read my post about my trials of baking a specialty cake for my son’s birthday — I struggled with making it, blue icing wedged deep under my fingernails, staining my fingertips. After it was over, I was soooo glad I did and have a picture to prove it! It’s a super cute car-shaped cake that took waaay too long to make, and was devoured waaaay to fast, but was totally worth all the effort.
So, as you can tell by now, I’m a mom and I have a son. I also work full-time and believe in balancing work, life and family. Although, you don’t have to be employed to need to find balance in your life. It’s not easy for any of us to do, but I use this blog to help me keep balance in the forefront of my life. In doing it in blog form, I am able to help other women realize they aren’t alone in their quest to get things done, and have fun doing it too. I post every week day so be sure to stop here often. Read more about me here.
And, since this is a party, I should send a shout out to all the Internet peeps who regularly come here to read my posts. *shout* THANK YOU *shout* WOOT! I really appreciate your support and hope that you get as much out of it as I do each day.
Here are some of my favorite posts:
- ‘Thomas the Tank Engine’ is ruining my night
- Is our account screwed up or is my dear husband just not paying attention?
- Observations from my two-year-old
- Family yard day turns into family lazy day
- Crib tent helps parents and child sleep (with photo)
- I was recently interviewed for an article about trends in American families
- Read my most recent posts.

It is hard for every mom to balance all of the people that we are supposed to be. It looks like you are doing a great job balancing. Have a great party!!!
Wow! Really nice site. Your two year old sounds like a barrel of lifes. My daughter is 2 as well. I clicked over to the crib tent. Whoa! My daughter would be terrified. I’m the lucky parent of a child that sleeps in her crib (not ready for her big girl bed yet that’s stationed right next to her crib) and doesn’t get out in the middle of the night or in the morning for that matter. Oh, she can though, way too easlily. But she prefers for my husband and I to get her out of her crib.
Please stop by either of my sites if you get a chance: Scamp’s Place or http://teenlitreview.blogspot.com.

Nice place you have here; I look forward to looking around a bit more.
Come by my party in sunny southern Italy when you get a chance
Hi Alicia! I clicked over and read the Thomas the Tank Engine entry, LOL. I’m sorry, I shouldn’t laugh, but I can so relate. I have two boys. And both boys have OBSESSED over trains and Thomas. And I know how it can add stimulation to a child who’s already over-stimulated. When children get like that, you just have to ride out the storm and wait for them to get tired out, talk calmly and try and get them to do calming things. Trust me, been there, done that. *grin*
Your blog is very positive and I’m ALL ABOUT staying positive in life.
It was great to meet you! Enjoy the party!

Just stopping in to check out your blog party! I saw the cake you made and wow…you did an awesome job. I’m lucky to get a sheet cake to look halfway decent lol. My husband is a way better decorator than I am
. (shh..don’t let him know I said that lol)
Thanks for inviting me to the party. I need to learn more about balance myself! It is helpful to know I’m not the only one!
Nice to meet you.

Nice blog! Thought I’d pop by and return your visit. Love the blue car cake! It puts my cookies to shame. Great party!
Ah, yes. Balance. I don’t have it, but I’m getting closer to it than I have in a while!
And, we have had a similar Thomas induced pre-bedtime turning the tv off meltdown as well. And we’ve had them in the morning, afternoon, midafternoon, and early evening as well! For a while we had them every. single. time. thomas was turned off. Thankfully now he understands that the tv does have to be turned off some of the time LOL! *he being my two year old son!
Hi! Happy UB partying!
