‘Secrets of Thrifty Families’

by Alicia at BalancingMotherhood.com on July 14, 2008

This past weekend’s “Parade” magazine’s cover story is about how families can save money. They feature a few families who live on small incomes, but still manage to get by.

One family of four lives on $32,000. The husband works for a University while the wife stays home with their two children. I don’t know about you, but $32,000 isn’t a lot of money for one person, let alone four. I had to read the article to find out how they do it.

Even if you don’t employ these families strategies for everyday living, it should be inspiring to see how others live on less.

Excellent article – thanks for sharing! It reminded me of when my sons were young, money was tight, and I used to cut up my husband’s old shirts to make the boys their summer clothes :) These tips would’ve come in handy!
