How To Have ‘The Happiest Baby on the Block’

Dr. Harvey Karp kept my husband and I sane when we had my son. As new parents we didn’t know step one about how to handle a baby. Sure, we’d been to the local parenting classes at our hospital. We learned that “babies are slippery when wet.” We learned how to hold a baby. How to change a diaper. (Yes, they offer classes for these things.)

Happiest Baby on the BlockWhen it came to how to get your child to calm down for bed or to be comfortable for a good nights rest we were at a loss. That is, until we read Dr. Karp’s “The Happiest Baby on the Block,” book. What a change it offered us. I recommend watching the video as well. The book is great and has step by step instructions on how to sush your baby and, my favorite, the best way to swaddle a baby, but the video shows you these things with actual people.

The baby swaddling technique that Dr. Karp teaches is life changing. It’s the ONLY way to swaddle a baby, in my opinion.

Dr. Karp is probably this generation’s Dr. Spock. He’s a life changer and has helped many parents. I’ll be rewatching that video in the coming months to prepare for baby number 2.

If you are in the Orlando area this week, Dr. Karp is going to be giving a lecture at the Orange County Regional History Center in downtown Orlando. Here’s the scoop:

I didn’t know about this book when I first became a mom. Wish I had; we struggled with the swaddling technique!

    Dear Alicia,

Thank you for mentioning “The Happiest Baby on The Block” book and DVD. Dr. Karp’s techniques have helped countless fussy babies and I am really glad they have worked so well for you!

In addition to the DVD and book, Dr. Karp’s “Super Soother” Calming Sounds CD is super-important tool for calming the “fussies” and instantly adding 1-3 hours to a baby’s sleep. Dr. Karp’s specially engineered CD has 5 highly effective white noise tracks. Parents love this CD because it gives them total control over the volume and is super portable so it is easy to use in the car and on trips to grandma’s. Also, it can be used well into toddler years!

Also, have you heard about Dr. Karp’s DVD and book “The Happiest Toddler on the Block”? They do for toddlers (8-months to 5-years) what “The Happiest Baby” does for babies! They teach simple yet extremely effective techniques that calm tantrums in seconds, eliminate most tantrums in days and offer simple tips for making children much more patient and cooperative. These are a must for any parent of older infants and young tots! Parents usually watch the DVD 2-3 times first to really learn the techniques and then read the book to learn many more tips, like dealing with picky eating, potty training, whining and discipline.

    All Best Wishes,

    Suzana

PS If you have a moment, it would be great if you could leave a short review on Amazon. It really helps other new parents to read about the experiences of seasoned parents……like you!
