Jon and Kate’s ‘Big Announcement’
I’m over trying to figure out what is going to happen to Jon and Kate. TLC is promoting a “life changing” announcement on tonight’s episode of “Jon & Kate Plus 8.”
But I Care
I care because I’ve watched this show a few times and I know this is a real family. It’s a family with a mom and a dad and 8 great kids. Kids that want to be a family that stays together — what family doesn’t? I’m not planning on watching tonight’s show because I can’t bear to see this family break up. I’m also over seeing this family on TV. It was cute at the beginning and I think that so many moms can learn from Kate Gosselin — she’s an organizing queen, but there is a time to say, “enough.” If the big D word is said tonight, I think the family should not contniue the show. Let Jon and Kate, plus the kids, deal with this in private.
UPDATE:
Jon and Kate announce they are “separating.” Watch the clip on TLC’s Web site.

Look what becoming celebrities has done to this once normal family.
I’m hoping they say they’re not gonna do the show anymore, and they’re gonna concentrate on getting the family dynamic back on track with counseling. She has the book career in motion now; they still have that for income. Jon needs a job or something to give him a purpose that will make him feel like he matters. So many people are so negative about Kate’s controlling ways, but when you have that many people in a household someone has to be “aware” and keeping things on track. I’m amazed at how well the kids stay in order. They could always do an annual show, but they really need time out of the limelight to just “be.”
They did say they were “separating” on camera. But if you noticed the clip on the screen following that - the printed text on the screen said, legal proceedings were initiated June 22, 2009 officially to dissolve the 10 year marriage.
I think they have already started toward the divorce. If the legal proceedings were initiated, I don’t think they are attempting to resolve this problem in their relationship.
It saddens me to say the least. I have been a longtime viewer and I love the dynamic of the family. I applaud Kate for her organization skills and her character as a person. Say what you will - she can get a job done. And with that many kids, who can be complacent!?
Anyway I was saddened to watch last night and read on the screen about the official proceedings…
I think they are heading toward a divorce, but having been through it myself; I hate it for the kids and for them.
