It isn’t often that I get any time alone. Maybe 10 minutes here or 10 minutes there. Even when I’m alone, my family is usually still in the house — asleep or in another room. It’s not the same as being on your own, making your own decisions without having to account for anyone else.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my husband and my kids, but there are times when you just need to be alone to think. To “be.” It’s my time to be centered and think about who I am and what I want to do. What I want for my family.
It’s the time to take away the distractions of the day, of the world, and focus on what is important to you.
Do you get any alone time?

I try to make sure that I get “me” time each day, but it isn’t often alone time, if that makes sense. Me time includes going to the gym or getting a pedicure or something like that but it usually involves me interacting with someone else in order to get it. I usually don’t get “alone” time until the kids are in bed at around 8 or 8:30.
Oh man… it is so hard when the kids are young. I remember just wanting to be alone in my house for the whole day, without having to think of what’s for lunch, what’s for dinner, the night-time routine…. “Going” somewhere to have time alone just isn’t the same. Just know that it all passes in the blink of an eye and then they get independent and you’re begging for a spot on the calendar to spend some time with them! LOL!
i’m not a mom, but seeing my mom work so hard makes me want to get all her things and lock it up somewhere she can’t find them, and just make her relax and unwind, especially this coming mother’s day. i hope you all have a relaxing weekend!
