I write these as a way to collect information that I’m learning and I’ve decided that it’s too good not to share! So, you get the benefit of everything I find in a month … all right here. Plus, I share things that worked on my site.
Learned about on tap clickthroughs for Pinterest promoted pins. The gist is that a user who clicks on your Pinterest pin will be taken directly to your site, not to a close up of the pin. Sounds great, right? But what about people who don’t want to go to your site. They don’t know you. That’s could end up being a wasted click, which equals wasted money. But is it worth the risk? HMMM. Read more.
Found a good source for some free Pinterest pin advice, from a blogger who redid her pins and doubled her traffic.
Are you properly citing your sponsored posts on Facebook. Be sure to read their new guidelines.
The Stay at Home Chef grew her FB page from 60,000 to over 1.5 MILLION in just 6 months. WHAT??!! Who doesn’t want that? When asked how she did this, her response was viral videos. Go check out her page and see what she’s talking about.
I watched Blake Vita from Izea talk about Facebook ads in the Profitable Blogging Summit and one thing I learned is that he said in regard to ad placement you need to manually click OFF right column placement. If you don’t click off, then many of your ads will appear in the right column and are no more than a display ad. When you click it off, you ensure your ad appears in Facebook feeds along with other news content.
Facebook Promo Groups
Found a list of 30 Facebook groups for bloggers that have share days. I found several groups that I’m not a part of already.
I created two ads with immediate downloads on Facebook. This is a really powerful new tool that Facebook offers. Called, Facebook lead ads, you set up a lead, and connect your email system so the user gets the download in their email right away. No landing page to get in the way.
It’s not a perfect system though. I had to create a workaround to get it to integrate with my email provider (ConvertKit) Here’s a workaround that I had to do:
I use Convertkit and I hooked it to Facebook by using Zapier. Zapier is a service that sets commands …. I tested the ad with a free trial from Zapier and love the results so I’m going to move to the paid version. I can’t not spend $20 a month to gain more email subscribers.
Nothing new to report. I have been reading several experts that say you need to post every single day.
Promoting my Facebook Live guide on Facebook. I’m targeting it to bloggers to grow my blog email list.
I took out two Facebook ads to promote . I gained 50 new subscribers from a Chocolate ebook that I’m offering.
Here’s a suggested headline formula:
Numbers + Adjective + Target Keyword + Rationale + Promise

I’m formulating a new video strategy. It includes creating more videos for all of my blog posts. I just have to figure out how to do this economically. Video production is expensive.
Still trying to get to 30,000 consistent monthly page views so I can switch ad networks. So close!
Traffic is down 12% this month. Not a trend I like to see, but it’s typical this time of year. Summer may be worse. Traffic is up, however, year over year — 253% increase from last April, so this is great.

INVESTMENT IN BLOG
I hired a VA to content to my Facebook page 3 times a day. She charges $80/month for this service. While it may be a bit steep for a monthly fee, right now I can’t keep my queue filled and need help.
I’m also working on hiring a VA to do other duties for me. Mainly cropping and editing photos so I can get blog posts up faster.
I also bought two articles from a VA. I realize that time is what works against me.
GOALS FOR MAY
Have VA up and running getting work done.
Continue to post 5 times a month.
